July 2010 Part 2

Pioneer Day in Richfield, UT with Alex and Marci:

The people:

Making butter:
The cat....which has since run away.

The food:
The butter finished too late to enjoy it for dinner.

Cake inspiration from here. Sadly this is the best photo I took of the inside. I made some changes. I used the Laura Ingalls Wilder wedding cake recipe and beat it by hand until it was about to fall off and then used a mixer. I was trying to get the full pioneer experience. I do NOT recommend the frosting recipe in this blogs recipe. As cool and nice and thick it looks it calls for waaaaay too much butter to do so. I used less even and it still felt like you were eating a stick of butter. But I do love the way the colors turned out, a little faded for Pioneer Day.

The decorations:

The entertainment:

Bear Lake with my dad's side of the family:

Wonderful time with family. Only bad thing: we got poured on the first night but the next day at the beach was fabulous! Cecily really took to the water and the other kids were like little fish too. There was good food and great memories.

Photos in complete random order bcse I am tired. Here are my sisters posts here and here for more photos:

July 2010 Part 1

July was crazy busy!!!

July 1st-14th: Colorado highlights

**My sister Jennie is back from India after 6 months. Jet lagged and prego.
**Help Jennie and Grant paint their new home.

**Lamest 4th of July ever mainly because it rained. But here is my cute SIL, Hannah. Born the day after (and 14 years) me with her fruit pizza.

**Tyler, his dad and Samuel installing the hitch on our van.

**Camping in Gma and Gpa's backyard. Shadow puppets. Samuel puking in the tent. Weird animal breathing outside the tent but too scared to check it out. Cecily not sleeping well. Still fun!

**Cute girls. Jocelyn still has long hair.

**Gma and Hannah gave Joc a little tea party. She still brings it up. Hannah curled Jocelyn's hair, or at least half of it, that's all she would let her do.

**Bubbles!

**White Fence Farm

Jocelyn is a little sensitive to smells. haha.

**And the krispie pops I made right after I got home from CO for my RS activity that night. Here is the post about them. Correction: my SIL Hannah made the rice krispy treats the day before and her sister my other SIL Emily dipped them for me while I prepared for the activity that night. So technically, I did not make them. Thanks gals!

Next post:
**Pioneer Day in Richfield, UT at Alex and Marci's.
**Bear Lake Family Reunion with my dad's side of the family.
