I can't believe my baby is no longer a newborn.
I only noticed it one day before other people started telling me she no longer looked like one. It started with the cry. She doesn't snort anymore when she cries. And it's not that tiny little voice from her early months. It has more depth that comes from her more developed diaphragm. It has ups and downs and emotions that start with a whine of complaint or a whimper.
Then her body is an obvious change. She's fatter. She's longer. She no longer fits into most 3-6 months clothes. Her eye is still plugged. "No, it's not pink eye" I have to tell almost everyone who wants to see her. It's a plugged tear duct people! Yes, I wash my baby's face. No, she's not contagious. It should be gone by 9 months otherwise a needle has to get in the picture. Let's hope for both our sakes that is goes away by then.
She's social. She wants to be in on the action with her brother and sister. She watches TV, plays with toys, reaches for things and grabs things like hair. And, yes, she always has a concerned look on her face. It's the funniest expression.
She is more vocal now. She coo's, babbles, blows raspberries, laughs, squeals. It's so fun!! She is so happy and her smile is contagious. I love it. I love her!
These photos are about 3 1/2 months old.
Tomorrow I hope to post some video and her stats.
She is adorable. Looks like Jocelyn. I can't believe how fast babies grow and change. I already feel like Livi is so different just after 6 weeks!
ReplyDeleteShe's really cute Hannah! I'm really loving this age with Gavin
ReplyDeleteShe is so darling! REALLY, really cute!! And no, I can't believe she's four months either! I feel like you had her yesterday!
ReplyDeleteHope you guys are settling in well to the new place!
It's funny you asked about Lucy's preference of art tools...she got new crayons for her birthday and I was HOPING that would rekindle a love of crayons in her...alas, she (and consequently her brother, which is problematic) prefers markers =)
She's beautiful! Branson had clogged tear ducts as well and first one, then the other, finally cleared up. I'm sure her's will too. Good pictures!
ReplyDeleteOlivia had clogged tear ducts...put a little silver in her eye and massage it. If you can imagine what I'm trying to show you, start at the top of the inside of the eye and firmly press as you run your finger down the inside of her nose and eye. Liv suffered with hers for a year before I found out about the silver and the massage. Worked like a charm. Give me a call if this did not make sense. :)
ReplyDeleteNathan had the clogged tear duct. It wasn't cleared up by the time he was one so we had to due the procedure thing (turned out it wasn't just plugged, he actually had a tiny membrane that was creating the blockage) but it was super easy, super fast, and basically not a big deal. So if the other treatments don't work, don't stress. As far as procedures go, it was fast and easy and Nathan didn't even have any discomfort afterward.
ReplyDeleteOh, she is so cute! I can't wait to meet her, and see you too of course!!! I know our kids are gonna have a blast playing together!
