What a week!

Labor Day weekend was AWESOME! Tyler and I got away and celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary early. But more on that later.

Just wanted to share the following:

-We picked 100 lbs of FREE peaches on Monday and get to can them once their ripe later this week.

-Sadly, I may not get to make grape jelly this year because my grandma's loaded vines FELL and started to die before I could collect them. I was hoping to wait until after the first frost for ultimate ripeness/sweetness but alas the vines could not handle the weight any longer and now I must find some other free grapes to make into jelly.

-We thought about getting a dog. It was Tyler's suggestion. I have never wanted a family dog. But he found a family giving away free puppies. They are cute and fuzzy. But they are doberman/healer/german shepherd muts. Every sane person I tell about this "breed" tells me to run away. It is tempting especially seeing how excited Samuel is about getting a dog. But I am not sure if it is right for us at this time. Hard decision.

-Have loads of zucchini from your garden? I just posted Tyler's mom/ gma's wonderful zucchini bread recipe w/variations here (including chocolate pictured).

-Cecily is 7 months old now. She is sitting up and rolling over finally. She is still my smiley, cute chubbers but has been extra whiny this last week. I hope it's because she's teething and not a temperament change.

-Since Samuel has started Kindergarten things are a lot happier around here. Less fighting, more structure, and a happier family. Yay!

-Oh, and the worst things that happened this week proves that it's not time to be a home owner because I am just retarded. I burned the carpet last week by not noticing my iron fell onto it and burned a gaping hole (the carpet needs to be replaced anyway, but still, that is no way to treat it!). Then I left a crock-pot cooking on the stove top, but the pot got too close to the knobs and turned it on (w/o me noticing) and melted the leg off the pot. Luckily the stove is okay. Until I did the same thing (however, this time the stove turned to high) tonight to my rice cooker. But the cooker is probably not salvageable. What a moron!!!! Where is my head? I do not know...more on that later too.

-And we have to get the brakes checked, we got a flat tire en route to our first anniversary date, and our dryer doesn't want to work. Yay. More people to call, places to go, things to fix. Seriously? I have to be an adult now? Whaaaaa.

--Oh, but good news!!! My brother and sister-in-law finally welcomed their new baby boy into the world today! yay for more nephews to join the cousin ranks!

So much to do, so little time and too many distractions!!!!!
