I voted for....

David Archuleta, baby!

Only in Murray, Utah would you see these pictures both of which are up and down my street, respectively. David would blush if he saw the hooters one, lol.

Well, I voted at least 30 times last night. I wonder if my vote counts. And it's only a matter of hours until we find out who the next American Idol is....Melanie, Melissa and me are having a rockin' party tonight in honor of the finale!!!! My house is clean, my laundry is clean (though not folded yet), dinner is ready! I am excited to party!

My prediction: I don't know who will win. Last night I thought for sure Archie was going to win with Simon's "knock out", "phenomenal" comments and Randy basically calling him the next American Idol. But after reading some forums today I am not so sure. I agree with the judges and general public, little Dave certainly blew DC out of the water last night with song selection, pitch and connection. Plus he's been very consistently good throughout the whole season. But David Cook appeals to older generations. He has a unique style, though forgettable performances. David A is criticized for looking like he's going to puke or like a "sick puppy" every time he hears the judges comments.

So, did America vote for who was the most popular? They did throughout the whole season? Or did they vote for David Cook to rebel against Simon for praising David A? Who knows? Only time will tell for America! Ya!!!!!!

Well, now I am depressed. Oh, sad. Our party was crashed. Tyler says he'll never watch it again. I won't say I wasn't surprised that David Cook won I am just disappointed. David will still have a great career just not the title. He may be like Clay Aiken! Hope he'll still get a chance/desire to go on a mission.

  1. I'm with you. I am just so sad...I've been sad all day. I can't shake it...silly I know. I just wanted him to win...it feels unfair in a way. I'm with Tyler and I want to boycot the show next year! I must say I loved his "Apologize" performance. I've been singing it all morning. Cute, cute boy..I sure love him :)

  3. I guess since we are not in Utah we don't have such a pull to David A. We were in love and pulling for David C! Yes DA is vocally the better talent...but I think DC is more talented when it comes to creating song arrangements and appealing to a huge array of fans...DA mostly choose feel good music...(someone said he was a modern Michael Bolton). Lanny hated that comparison but kind of agreed with it. Sorry...I hope you and Tyler don't disown me as your friend for thinking so. I actually love them both and will buy both of their albums and play them both...because they both are amazing ...just different styles! Plus now DA is not stuck in an iron clad contract...he can create his own amazing career and do it on his terms...so if he has a desire to serve a mission he can...maybe the hand of the lord was in this one. Ok...enough of my two cents...I love AI and both the Davids!

  4. I am sad. And I was SHOCKED when they announced it. But DA has plenty of time. I think both of them will go far. This wasn't his only chance. He has a good future and plenty of money and fame to look forward to. I don't think anyone should ever feel bad for either of the top two. The publicity is enormous. And Clay Aiken has certainly surpassed Reuben Studdard in popularity. It doesn't matter how America votes. We know that DA is incredible, as is DC.

  5. I was bummed he didn't win, too. Oh well...I'm sure he'll get a record deal from this and that's all that matters, right?

  6. I did not know David A was Mormon. I have not even watched American Idol. Leslie does though.

Families sign up to clean a certain area of the church about once a year. My month I did two areas because no one signed up for the Primary area (about 1/3/ of the building) and I signed up for the Relief Society room to the Media Center (about 1/3 of the building).
