Mealworm fun

Did you guys ever babysit a mealworm in 4th grade?

Tyler went ice fishing with Samuel the other week. He bought earthworms and mealworms and brought the leftovers home and stuck them in the fridge. One afternoon, for 4 days straight, the kids got the worms out and played with them. The mealworms had more appeal than the earthworms. I taught the kids how to teach the worms how to do their exercises. Man, those little creepy things have strong little legs. Or they're just really sticky.

Anyway, we had to let them go eventually. Jocelyn still asks for them. When we dumped the earthworms out to feed to the birds, they were all huddled in a ball and Sammy screamed, "Ewwww, they're all (and he crosses his fingers in a ball and wriggles his hands in a fist) stuck together in a ball warmer" or something to that effect. Haha.
